We’re always looking for ways to make our application form easier to fill in so that the process is smooth and intuitive. We want to help applicants submit a complete and correct application that won’t be rejected at our triage stage. (We currently reject 50% of all the applications submitted to us because they don’t meet one or more of our basic criteria.)

One of the most common reasons for rejection at Triage is that the journal’s ISSN isn’t fully registered or confirmed. To help applicants discover the status of their journal’s ISSNs, we are adding dynamic links under the ISSN fields in our form. The links will take the applicant directly to the ISSN entry in the ISSN portal. If an ISSN is provisional, the ISSN Portal will display this.

This is the first in a series of small improvements we are making to the application form, both for publishers and our Editorial Team.
