Initially, this access was made available through Lund University, where DOAJ was established. Since 2013, following the transfer of DOAJ to its independent operating organisation, this cooperation has continued through a series of dedicated agreements between the ISSN International Centre and DOAJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Designated members of the DOAJ team will have access to the ISSN Portal, including ISSN lookup and download services, in accordance with the terms of the agreement.The ISSN International Centre will use DOAJ metadata to identify matching records within ROAD, while DOAJ will provide updated metadata through its Premium Metadata Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Ga\u00eblle B\u00e9quet, Director of the ISSN International Centre, comments: &#8220;Quality metadata is the foundation of scholarly communication. By strengthening our collaboration with DOAJ, we are supporting the accurate identification and discoverability of open access journals worldwide.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joanna Ball, Managing Director of DOAJ, adds: &#8220;Providing verification and validation to the journal metadata in DOAJ is one of the most valued of DOAJ services and by interlinking services, like DOAJ and ISSN, we are building a network of trust. It is only fitting that we renew this collaboration with ISSN.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About DOAJ<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DOAJ is a unique and extensive index of diverse open access journals from around the world, driven by a growing community. Its mission is to increase the visibility, accessibility, reputation, usage and impact of quality, peer-reviewed, open access scholarly research journals globally, regardless of discipline, geography or language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About the ISSN International Centre<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded in Paris in 1975, the ISSN International Centre coordinates the worldwide ISSN Network and is responsible for the assignment and management of International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSNs). The ISSN Network comprises 96 National Centres that work together to support the identification, cataloguing, dissemination and long-term preservation of serial publications and other continuing resources worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ISSN International Centre manages the ISSN Portal (<a href=\"https:\/\/portal.issn.org\">https:\/\/portal.issn.org<\/a>), the authoritative international database of serial publications and other continuing resources.
