You must be able to write and speak English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a DOAJ Associate Editor, you will be expected to do a few hours of voluntary, unpaid work a week. We will give you training. You will be supported by an Editor and a Managing Editor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work you do directly contributes to the quality, reputation and prominence of DOAJ and of open access around the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To apply<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Please\u00a0complete this form. (The Google form may not work for some. A\u00a0Word version of the form\u00a0is available.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are open to anyone with the requested languages skills. If you are associated with a journal that is in DOAJ or has applied to DOAJ then you must declare your conflict of interest in the application form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements of the Role<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You must have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>good knowledge about open access (OA);<\/li><li>good knowledge about developments in scholarly publishing;<\/li><li>a working understanding of OA publishing practices.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In your work you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>assist in evaluating journals suggested to DOAJ in your specialist language;<\/li><li>keep details of applications confidential;<\/li><li>be confident working online;<\/li><li>have stable access to the internet;<\/li><li>support and promote DOAJ and its goals;<\/li><li>be a DOAJ advocate;<\/li><li>respect the terms of our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/doaj.org\/privacy\">privacy policy<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you for considering volunteering for DOAJ!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(This blog post will be updated when we have filled the positions and the application form will be closed.)<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DOAJ uses a network of 100 skilled, voluntary Associate Editors and Editors who spend a few hours a week processing new journal applications for us.&nbsp; We are looking for new volunteers who speak Japanese.&nbsp; You do not have to be a native speaker.
